I have done a few ceramic coating in my time as more than a hobby detailer. I have come to like the 1-2 year ceramic coatings. In my area in the salt belt of the north, it gets me a good year of protection If I keep up on washes and coating refresh I can push it out to 18 months.

Currently I have been liking Gtechniq EXO. Its marketed as a "coating topper", but as a stand alone I really like how slick it is. The price of it is reasonable as well. So far it has proven to be quite durable, and it is a breeze to install. I feel like in the last few year there has been some great advances in making multi year coatings more user friendly. In general I have been very happy with Gtechniq.

Now that I've unpacked my thoughts, What are people liking in the 1-2 year coating, even up to 3 years? This is mainly for my personal vehicles. For customers and other projects I often reach for longer life coatings. I may not be in the business per say, but i still have people I do work for, where longer life coatings make so much sense. Especially in agriculture equipment I have coated.

Looking forward to hear what people think.

Thanks in advance

My take is probably different than non-detailers. Because I CAN detail my own car, that is do the washing, claying, paint correction, etc., that I like to re-polish and re-coat after a couple of years.

Mostly because, your car always looks it's BEST right after a full detail. While the protection will last longer, the CRISP supe glossy appearance will tend to dimmish over time, assuming the vehicle is a daily driver, (like my vehicles), and thus the exterior sees plenty of inclement weather and repeated washing and drying.

Just my take.
