Hello people i am looking for a ceramic wax or paint sealant for a black show car
One product says it can last up to 18 months and another says to reply every 3-6 months?
Both Ceramic wax
The customer just got the car out of the paint shop .we need to wait 30 days for cure time.
We have a bit of time to research this.
Thanks,Nick

I don't know of any "actual" ceramic-based "waxes".

I now people sell them, I just don't remember any experience with them over the last few decades.

Dr. Beasley's has a liquid, lotions style ceramic protectant called PlasmaCoat

PlasmaCoat

Dr. Beasley’s PLASMA COAT is an easy-to-use ceramic nanocoating for glossy-finished paint. Instantly bonds to form a hydrophobic barrier that promotes self-cleaning and resists staining. Exhibits a warm, wax-like gloss with one year or more of durability.

  • HIGH DURABILITY
  • ACTIVELY HYDROPHOBIC
  • WARM, WAX-LIKE SHINE
  • EASY, FAST APPLICATION

I've used it and it creates a great looking, hard shine but application should be limited to small sections at a time, like the size you would apply a ceramic coating to. Here's an old 2-door Jalopy that after all the paint correction I used PlasmaCoat

1952 Nash Rambler - Super hard basecoat/clearcoat paint job.

I believe this product now comes in our new squeeze bottles as we're phasing out the tube containers.

I’m a bit leery of “ceramic infused” products these days as there are SO many on the market.
In my opinion I’d do a good wash, decontamination & paint correction followed by a true ceramic and maintain with a “ceramic booster” or “ceramic detailer” after the ceramic coating is cured I suppose a good wax over the top will not hurt but at that point you’re not applying the product on the paint ; you’re applying it on top of the ceramic coating, which I like to consider close to another coat of clear coat.
I’m not a professional, though I do own and operate a detail shop here in Connecticut and I am leaning more and more towards ceramic coatings despite a long time not believing in them. It just eliminates a lot of steps for me ; as I used to wash and decontaminate, buff, detail spray (to remove residue) followed by multiple different products for paint enhancement and protection, followed by a detailer spray for the show car finish. The enhancement isn’t always the most important to the customer, the protection is. And I wouldn’t do the protection without the enhancement. The ceramic coating seems to be more of the “All in one” therefore knocking off a couple steps for me.
Ceramic coatings are also growing to be a wider and wider variety with marketing tactics for hardness, longevity and performance. Stick to a good reputable brand and go with it.

With that being said, I trust @Mike Phillips recommendations on products / procedures as it’s literally been proven.
The coatings no matter what they are will only look as good as the surface you are applying them to. As I tell customers I can clean, correct and protect vehicles, but I can’t perform miracles, Well, unless the price is right… then we’ll see…
