I have a 2015 F-150 that I know has base / clear like i think all modern vehicles do, not aware of any that are produced any other way. I have used 2500 & 3000 wet paper to remove some defects that would not buff out with coarse pad and heavy liquid abrasives with great success.
Can the same process ( wet sanding ) be done on single stage ? I am guessing that it can, but need to be careful not to go thru to the primer. I take it that if I went to far on the base /clear, I would see color on the pad and or paper/water, but that will always be the case with single stage-- Y/N ? ( always having color since the base & clear are mixed together when sprayed.
